We will set targets to reduce our climate impact, support our clients in achieving their climate commitments, and create long-term value for our employees and other stakeholders.
Sustainable Products
We have a long history of applying leading-edge innovation to develop new products that meet consumer needs. We are also an industry leader in bringing innovative solutions to market that address climate change, such as Assurant EV One Protection℠, an electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) protection product launched in 2022 and available in 12 countries. We are poised to adapt to the growing EV market by expanding our offerings. In 2024, we achieved a significant milestone by issuing mechanical breakdown protection on over 60K PHEVs (7.5% of our total protection contracts issued).
Climate Goal
In 2025, we are focused on advancing the following climate-related priorities:
- Expand renewable energy sourcing at our Device Care Centers, including solar installations and energy-efficient upgrades.
- Continue progress toward our science-based targets for Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions, and enhance reporting on Scope 3.
- Enhance our enterprise-wide Climate Risk Management Framework to strengthen resilience and decision-making.
- Maintain strong sustainability governance, including regular engagement with senior leadership and the Board
